GA Telesis Engine Services has received the Ethical Recruitment Award today in recognition of its exemplary recruitment practices. The award was presented by investigator Jari Lindström at the recruitment and career coaching event UusioUra in Helsinki.
– GA Telesis Engine Services has an amazing recruitment practice in terms of both age diversity and multiculturalism. The company also hires employees over 50 without prejudice and strives to find tasks that match each expert's skills. The company also takes care of coordinating employees' work and leisure time, describes Minea Pyykönen of the Trade Union Pro, the chairwoman of the competition jury.
Dozens of nominations were received for the Ethical Recruitment Competition.
– It is fantastic to be the first company to be awarded the award from among several excellent candidates. The significance of the award is underlined by the fact that it was awarded on the recommendation of our employee. We are very proud of this, says Pia Pallasto, Human Resources Director at GA Telesis Engine Services.
Equal opportunities for all
GA Telesis Engine Services Oy repairs and maintains aircraft engines and their parts with approximately 280 experts at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. The company has employees from 35 different countries and is a significant part of the US-based GA Telesis Group. It is important for the global group that applicants are treated with respect and equality.
– We constantly meet candidates of different ages and backgrounds from all over the world.
– We want to offer everyone equal employment and advancement opportunities based on the qualifications, abilities and professional skills of the individuals, Pallasto describes.
Ethical recruitment increases well-being
Ethical recruitment does not end with an employment contract. All employees undergo a comprehensive orientation, which includes training on ethical principles.
– We guarantee a safe work community for all our employees and we want all our employees to feel like they are an important part of it, Pallasto says.
– We often receive feedback during recruitment that our work atmosphere is immediate, caring and receptive. Our superiors and the entire staff play an extremely important role in this, Pallasto emphasizes.
Developing recruitment is a long-term effort.
-We are constantly reviewing and developing our recruitment practices. Although we are extremely happy with the recognition we have received, we certainly want to develop further in this regard, Pallasto smiles.
