The strike will start already at 6:00 am on Tuesday 26th of April as salaried employees taking part to the second phase of the strike will stay home after Eastern or will left from their work a day earlier than announced before.

The Trade Union Pro has announced that the strike will start allready on 26th of April. The strike affects all Finnish jobs at both Stora Enso and Metsäliitto Group (including the operations of Metsä-Botnia, M-real and Metsä Tissue) that are governed by the collective bargaining agreement of salaried paper industry employees. The strike concerns the chemical forest industry units of the companies.

The reason to start the strike earlier is employers' actions to break the strike with the strikebreakers. Employers has started measures to do the jobs which are on strike. At the same time employers has prepared to break the strike by recruiting strikebreakers and outsourcing work to be done elsewhere.

This strike will stand for two weeks and will end as annouced earlier on Wednesday 11th of May.

Furthermore, an overtime ban is still in effect in the entire industry.

Trade Union Pro appeals to the salaried and non-salaried employees of these companies in other countries to not perform any extra work of the type covered by the strike, as the companies might seek to break the strike by such means.
