How do I participate?

Do this:

1. Recommend Pro membership to your friend.
2. After you friend has joined Pro, fill in this form.
3. Wait for your prize.
4. For every new member you have gathered, you are rewarded with a 40 euro Super Gift Card

When do I get my reward?

You are entitled to your gift card immediately after the new member has authorized their employer to collect the membership fee from their salary. If the new member is a self-paying member, the prize will be sent immediately after we have ensured that the member who has joined us thanks to your recommendation has paid their membership fee for the first two months. 

How many gift cards can I get? 

There is no upper limit to the number of gift cards you can get based on your recommendations. The more members you gather, more gift cards you get.

Do I have to pay tax for the gift card? 

According to the Finnish Tax Authority, all material rewards received in member recruitment are considered as taxable income in their full value. The tax year is determined by when you receive your reward. Trade Union Pro notifies the tax authority about your reward and its value. Please ensure that it its mentioned in  your tax proposal and notify the tax authority about possible inconsistencies.

Rules for recommending membership

1. Organiser

Trade Union Pro (henceforth "Organiser, "Union" or "Pro", Työpajankatu 13 A, 00580 Helsinki)

2. Eligibility

All Pro members, whose membership is in force (i.e. membership fee has been paid according to the union's rules) are eligible for Recommend Membership -rewards. Trade Union Pro's personnel and their family members are not eligible for rewards.

3. Expiration of right to reward

Recommend membership -rewards must be applied within one year, starting from the date the new member has joined Pro, otherwise the right to the reward expires. The Organiser can however discontinue giving the rewards by its own decision and without an advance notice.

4. Participation in campaign

Participation does not require a separate notification/registration. Find a new member fulfilling the criteria and notify about them using an online form.  We will ask you to fill in your name and identity number to the form. Regarding  the new member you have found, you will need to provide the name, email address, workplace and postal number of the workplace. If we receive several recommend membership -notifications (online form) concerning the same member, the reward will be given to the person who notified first.

5. Rewards and conditions

You receive a Super Gift Card (worth 40 EUR) for each new Pro member you have managed to find according to the rules of the Recommend Membership -campagin. 

Receiving the reward requires that the member: 

• has joined Trade Union Pro as a so-called normal member ("normaalijäsen")
• has authorised their employer to collect the membership fee from their pay or is a self-paying member. If the employer has been authorised to collect the fee, the right to gift card begins immediately. If the member is so-called self-paying member, the right begins once we are able to confirm that the member, who has joined Pro based on a recommendation, has paid their membership fee for the first two (2) months. 
• has not resigned from Pro and rejoined Pro within six (6) months prior to the date of joining the Union. 

Both the person who has recommended the new member and the new member must both be members of Pro at the time of issuing the reward. This does not apply to persons who have recommended a new member and retired before they have received the reward.

You will receive the reward immediately once we have confirmed that the new member you have recommended has paid their membership fee according to rules of Pro and Recommend Membership -campaign. 

6. Compliance

These rules and the decisions made by the Organiser based on them apply to all participants. By participating in Recommend Membership -campaign you agree to follow these rules. The Organiser will resolve the potential ambiguities concerning the application and interpretation of the rules. If there is a suspicion of deceit or participation in a way that is not mentioned by the rules, the Organiser has the right to refuse participation.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend the rules, conditions and rewards of the Recommend membership -campaign. 

7. Taxation of rewards

According to the Finnish Tax Authority, the worth of material rewards obtained in member recruitment is considered as fully taxable income. The tax year is determined by the year when the reward has been given. Pro notifies the tax authority about the rewards and their value: please check that they are mentioned in your tax proposal and notify the tax authority in case they are missing.
