One day strike starting in TeliaSonera and Teleperformance in Finland

Teleperformance, a subcontractor in the ICT sector, violates the collective agreement of salaried employees – does not acknowledge the elected shop steward

Pro News

In April 2015 Teleperformance, a French based ICT subcontractor, informed its workers that the company will not acknowledge the election of the shop steward for salaried employees.

Trade Union Pro, an UNI affiliate in Finland, has actively negotiated with the employers’ association Palta, covering the ICT sector, to solve the dispute, but without any results.

“This is a very serious violation”, says national collective bargaining adviser Karri Lybeck from Pro. Teleperformance, which is a subcontractor to TeliaSonera, the biggest Nordic telecommunication company, does not respect the regulations of the collective labour agreement for salaried employees in the ICT sector signed by Pro and Palta.

The employers’ organisation Palta violates the rights of the salaried employees of Teleperformance, as Palta does not recognise the right to elect the shop steward.

According to most recent news the employer has started several negotiations under the Finnish Co-operation Act, but hasn’t invited the elected shop steward of Pro to these negotiations.

TeliaSonera needs to ensure that its sub-contractor Teleperformance applies the collective agreement as a whole, Trade Union Pro demands.

Because of the untenable situation, Trade Union Pro announced a one-day strike in Teleperformance and TeliaSonera on Friday 27t of November.
